The heart of the DAW tracking system is the Empirical Labs EL-9 Mike-E Preamp / Compressor channel with the Destresor-based ComSat feature. The ComSat adds sweet saturation to the perfectly compressed signal.

All DAW channel one tracks use the EL-9 channel strip.

The Mike-E is assigned to the primary Kelley Boutique amp mike.

The Mike-E is also the input preamp channel strip for all Direct In tracks like the Bass and all Guitar console directs. It is also the preamp for Vocal and Video dialog tracks.

DAW Mics & Directs Recording system is configured to capture 16 tracks of a guitar performance.
Eight of those tracks are Direct inputs to the DAW interface and Eight are microphone inputs.

ADAT light pipe is used to connect the Octopre to the USB 8Pre. A D25 connector cable sends the Direct In channels to the Allen Heath ZED 10 for track summing for channels three through six.

The Focusrite Clarett OctoPre ADAT inputs are used for the Direct Inputs from various audio points: a Core Guitar tone from the JHS Colour Box Channel pedal, The DI from the Hughes & Kettner Black Spirit 200 Floor amp, The UA Ox Box stereo out, The PreSonus BlueTube V2 for the Strymon Stereo Effects board, and the Allen Heath ZED 10 track summing mixer.

The Focusrite Clarett 8Pre USB uses its mic preamps for the Jim Kelley '82 Boutique Tube amp. the Tone King Gremlin tube amp, The Blackstar HR-20R MrkII tube amp, the H & K Black Spirit 200 Floor amp with dual Celestion Creamback speaker cabinet, a Bugera T-50 Infinitum tube amp, and the Hartke HD 150 solid state 15" cab.
