Brad was born at the start of the American Music Revolution in 1955, the year of Elvis Presley's emergence and the advent of Rock & Roll.

At the age of eight, he was deeply influenced by the Beatles and began taking guitar lessons from his neighbor, Jimmy Ellsworth, who lived three houses down the street. ​By Christmas 1964, when Brad received his first guitar as a gift from his grandfather, a guitarist, he was already captivated by music and the guitar. He was ready to embrace the British Invasion.

At that point, he needed to find a new instructor because he had surpassed his previous teacher.
