Output Channel Assignments for "Reamping" with Outboard Channel Strips

The Cave Studio's rack-mounted Outboard Gear's role is primarily to support the high-end condenser microphones on the Acoustic Desk using the Mic Input selection on each device.

The secondary supporting role is for the Live and Recorded tracks to be sent to the Line Inputs of the devices. The sonic and feature value of the gear can be realized during tracking and mixing.

The MOTU 12 Channel Output Sends

  • 1 & 2: Studio stereo monitor sends to the PreSonus Central Station for Speaker and Headphone distribution

  • 3: Channel direct send to an ABY switch for sending a dry, tuned, guitar tone directly to the Fender Twin Reverb

  • 4 Channel output send to the Line input of the Avalon Vt-737sp for return to ADAT #1 Line In 4 -> DAW channel #13

  • 5: Channel output send to the Line input of the ELI EL-9 Mike-e for return to ADAT #1 Line In 5 -> DAW channel #14

  • 6: Channel output send to the Line input of the Heritage HA-73 EQ for return to ADAT #1 Line In 6 -> DAW channel #15

  • 7 & 8: DAW assigned Headphones for the Slate VSX Headphone System

  • 9 & 10: Front panel stereo outputs for the MOTU assigned Headphone One

  • 11 & 12: Front panel stereo outputs for the MOTU assigned Headphone Two
