Studio Mics -
The SM-57 Kelley
Details for the
SM-57
General Description
The SM-57 is the industry standard guitar amp mic for decades. Paired with the Royer R-121 ribbon mic it is a match made in guitar tone heaven.
The R-121 is crystal clear and true to its sound source at high SPL levels. The SM-57 is musically colored and complements the pristine R-121 perfectly for that classic tube tone we all know and love.
The Seismic Custom Twin 12" Celestion Creamback cabinet, is used by the "Bedroom Amps" as a shared cabinet. It is mic'd with two SM-57s, one for each Celestion 12" Creamback speaker.
Comments
The contoured frequency response makes it simple to engineer clean audio for a live sound mix.
Hard knocks are just part of the show sometimes, and the SM57 is built to take them on. A hit from a high kick or a flying drumstick can’t shut it down.
Only the loud you want. With a uniform cardioid pattern and a pneumatic shock mount system, you get a whole lot of tone without the handling or background noise.
